Last week we celebrated the end of Black History Month with a week of action and celebration hosted by the Teaching for Black Lives study group. All over campus Guides and students read stories, watched movies, and engaged in individual and community projects. We read inspiring biographies of Black innovators and change makers. We listened to music by Black artists, and came together as a community to dance on the Plaza and celebrate joy! Thank you to all of the families and teachers who contributed to our book drive! Our wish list is posted in the Parent Portal for anyone who still wants to contribute.
The Zinn Education Project, which hosts Teaching for Black Lives study groups nationwide, has written an article spotlighting our own Escuela group.
