Snow Days

To refresh parents regarding "snow day" policy, we would like to remind you that if APS is closed or on an abbreviated schedule due to poor driving conditions, Escuela will follow suit. If APS is on an abbreviated schedule, such as a two-hour delay, the Elementary School will begin at 10:15 am, and the Primary and Toddlers at 10:30 am. In the event of a snowstorm during the day, it may be necessary to close early. Please listen to KOB-AM/FM for announcements of schedule changes or early closures. Thank you.

Holiday Child Care

Childcare will be available during Parent-Teacher Conference days and Spring Break if needed by enough families (A minimum of 10 children must be pre-registered for care during any break. If not, EDS reserves the right to cancel child care availability on those dates.)

Childcare at these times is available on an hourly, daily or weekly basis as specified in the Fee Schedule and in the Family Handbook. Pre-registration is necessary.

Lunch Program

Escuela del Sol’s Lunch program is operated by Ms. Robin Day. Robin has been providing delicious, nutritious snacks and meals for Escuela families and staff since 1999. Her catering studio is conveniently located in the Harwood Art Center, a short walk across the Plaza between the school and Art Center.

Meals are a smorgasbord of wholesome, mostly vegetarian fare. Everything is prepared on site in Robin’s kitchen with breads and desserts baked daily. You are welcome to join your child for lunch anytime, just let Ms. Robin and your child’s teacher know you are coming.

Come say hello! The kitchen opens by 7:45 every morning with fresh coffee and baked goods for adults as well.
