Escuela's teachers combine excellent training, strong academic qualifications and experience with warmth, openness, and a strong respect for children and their parents. Our lead teachers have their Montessori training through either the American Montessori Society (AMS) or the Association Montessori International (AMI).
Senior Elementary
Jennifer Kepesh joins our teaching staff this year working with Ms. Tanesia in the Senior El. Ms. Jennifer grew up in the shadow of the Sandias until she moved to California at age 8. She received a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology at U.C. Irvine, did research and taught as a professor and research associate, and also spent several years as a community literacy consultant. Her children attended Montessori schools for many years. In fact, it was during her parent observation opportunities that she became convinced that Montessori education is an education in harmony with human cognitive and social development. Ms. Jennifer will complete Washington Montessori's AMI elementary training and the M.Ed. program at Loyola University before joining the faculty at Escuela del Sol this fall.
