Carnuel Parade & Fiesta
Next Sunday (September 21st, from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.), is the annual Carnuel Parade, Fiesta and Rio Grande Down Syndrome Network Buddy Walk. The parade and walk begin at the Harwood Art Center (7th & Mountain) and head west on Mountain to Tiguex Park. At the park there will be live music on the Centennial stage, food trucks, activities for the whole family, vendors and information booths hosted by community partners. We’re also excited to have UNM cheerleaders join us as well as Lobo Louie and Lucy and Orbit! The Fiesta ends at 1:00 p.m. Hope you can join us!
SCHOOL DELAYS AND CANCELLATIONS
We would like to remind everyone that Escuela follows APS decisions regarding delays and closures (city schools, not mountain). Please stay tuned to radio and TV for updates. In the event of a 2-hour delay, school will open at 10:30. (There would be no childcare before 10:30.)
Surrealism in Senior El
Nick and Noah's experiments with overturning the classroom chairs sparked an interesting conversation about the center of mass and equilibrium. Later, when we were all discussing the human skeleton, the chairs came up again as an example of balance and stability much like our human frame.
