There are so many ways for parents to be involved at Escuela! From special events to ongoing activities, you can find a way to add your skills, energy and enthusiasm to the Escuela community in the way that works best for you.

Special Events

Escuela/Harwood Yard Sale - Saturday, April 17, 2010, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm

In conjunction with our annual Spring Parent/Teacher Work Day, we're having a huge yard sale! Over the years, we've accumulated a lot of great stuff in our basement storage room and it's time to get it cleared out - we'll be cleaning and redesigning our storage space at the Harwood to create separate storage areas for each Escuela classroom and various Harwood programs, and to do that, everything must go! We hope you'll take advantage of the opportunity to add good quality items from your own spring cleaning efforts to raise money for Escuela. Everything must go - anything not sold at the end of the day will be donated to Goodwill.

The sale will run from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm and will be promoted to the public. More details about where and when to bring items will be available soon and if you'd like to volunteer some time to help on the day of the event, please contact the school office.

2010 Auction - "Mission: Possible!" - Escuela's biennial auction is our biggest fundraiser and a major effort by staff and parents. To learn more, click here.

Ongoing Activities

There are many opportunities to get involved throughout the year - helping in the library, with classroom and campus needs, etc. - and the best way to stay in touch with what's going on is to get involved with our parent/teacher association, also known as ECO (Escuela Community Organization). Also, don't miss our monthly First Friday Coffee - held in the Harwood Dining Hall from 8:30 am to 9:30 am on the first (or occasionally second Friday of each month), this is an opportunity for parents to meet with the Head of School and staff for informal discussions on various topics. If you have a suggestion for a topic, please let us know!
