Our primary teacher is the universe. The universe evokes our being, supplies us with creative energy, insists on a reverent attitude toward everything, and liberates us from our puny self-definition.

Admissions to Escuela

We know that choosing a school is one of the most important decisions you will make for your child and your family. Our admissions procedures are created to find the right fit between school, student and family. A parent or guardian visit and an enrollment interview (at the time of visit) is an important part of this process. A personal visit will give you a look at the classrooms, allow you a peek into the daily life of students and give you a sense of the warmth of our teachers and the many opportunities available to you and your family. Your children are encouraged to visit with you.

The Toddler Community is an excellent start to a Montessori education. Our Toddler Guides are specifically trained for this age group, through the Montessori "Assistance to Infancy" course. Their many years of experience along with the appropriate education and training enables them to provide a safe, supportive environment scaled to our youngest students' needs. At a time of life most suited for sensory exploration, language development and social growth, Escuela's excellent toddler program provides the best for our young friends.

The optimal time to enter the Primary Program is at 3 years of age. Children remain in Primary through age six, or until they are ready to enter the Escuela del Sol Elementary. Preference for admissions is given to children who come from our Toddler program, to those whose families make a commitment through Elementary, and to students with previous Montessori experience.

Applicants for admissions to the Elementary school are considered on an individual basis. Students from Escuela's Primary program apply before admissions is opened to the public. Previous Montessori experience is preferred. Elementary School enrollment also requires previous school records, a teacher recommendation, any available evaluations, and a visit from the student. Parents, please be prepared to spend 30 - 45 minutes. When the student visits, he or she is welcome to stay the entire school day. Please call our office at 505-242-3033 or email us to schedule a tour. We look forward to meeting you!
